Where is Edible Forest located?
Edible Forest is located at Yarra Valley Estate in Dixons Creek, Victoria — about an hour from Melbourne and a short drive from Yarra Glen and Healesville.
Do I need to book a tour to visit?
Guided tours are the best way to experience the forest and learn about the plants. Walk-ins are not always available, so we recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
What is included in a guided tour?
Tours run for about one hour and include an overview of the forest’s design, plant varieties, and growing methods. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste selected herbs and edible plants along the way.
Can I bring children?
Yes. Children are welcome and often enjoy exploring the garden. We ask that they are supervised at all times, as some areas are under cultivation or contain sensitive plants.
Is the forest wheelchair accessible?
Some of the main pathways are accessible, but parts of the forest have uneven ground. If you have mobility needs, contact us before your visit so we can assist.
Can I buy plants or produce?
We are not currently set up for retail plant sales, but may offer seasonal produce or plant cuttings in future. Join our email list or follow us on social media for updates.
Do you run group tours or private bookings?
Yes. We welcome schools, gardening clubs, community groups and private bookings by request. Contact us to discuss your needs and we’ll help organise a suitable time.
Is there parking on site?
Yes. Free parking is available near the forest entrance, including space for small buses and group vehicles.
